Construction Manager

Department: NOA - GA
Location: Augusta, GA

The Construction Manager (CM) position is responsible for management of all aspects of the construction process. This includes but is not limited to route planning/selection, material/labor/equipment logistics, scheduling, quality control, reporting, restoration and long-term asset protection planning. The CM directs and supervises both Uniti Fiber staff and subcontractors. Occasionally CM’s are responsible for interviewing prospective candidates and providing input for the hiring process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates leadership through relationship building with permitting authorities and general public.
  • Executes strategic route selection.
  • Oversees applying appropriate construction methods, i.e. cost/benefit, cost impact.
  • Ensures safety precautions and requirements are implemented from pre-construction through completion of projects.
  • Works under pressure towards time-sensitive deadlines and ensuring expectations of the customer are met.
  • Exercises strong planning, organizational & problem-solving skills daily.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Knowledgeable of the asset protection process and engineering.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to travel long distances, as projects demand.
  • Minimum 1-year experience at Uniti Fiber in both Asset Protection and Engineering.
  • Proven demonstration of good judgement and the ability to make sound decisions.

  • Sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds several times a day.
  • Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds.
  • Bending, stooping, climbing ladders and crawling.
  • Keyboarding/typing.
  • Long hours involving overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen, sampling device and/or a paper copy.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work multiple tasks in a stressful environment while maintaining a positive and pleasant manner with others.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
